Rilutek Tablet is used in the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a degenerative disease that weakens muscles.
Rilutek Tablet is taken on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication mustn’t be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor.
Some common side effects of using this medication are weakness, headache, nausea, and stomach pain. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. This medicine may cause diarrhea, so drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated while taking this medicine.
Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine as it may increase the dizziness further. Your doctor may advise for liver and kidney function tests while taking this medicine. It is advised to reduce smoking or even better, to stop it as this may help to provide better results.
