Ibrance Tablet can be prescribed to women with HR+/HER2- otherwise called hormone receptor positive (HR+) human epidermal growth factor receptor 2- negative (HER2-) metastatic breast cancer. This is the most common subtype of metastatic breast cancer. You may be prescribed Ibrance Tablet to take along with another cancer drug that works as an aromatase inhibitor. The active ingredient of Ibrance Tablet is Ibrance, a CDK 4/6 inhibitor that works to slow down cell growth in healthy and cancer cells which can help to delay the cancer’s progression.
Your oncologist can explain how Ibrance works in your body and what to expect during treatment. You may experience shortness of breath, dizziness, nose bleeds, and bruising or bleeding more easily. This could be due to low red blood cell count so your doctor may monitor you with frequent blood tests while taking Ibrance Tablet. Having a low white blood cell count is common with Ibrance and this will also be monitored before and during treatment.

How Ibrance Tablet Works
Ibrance Tablet is an anti-cancer medication. Cyclin dependent kinase 4 and 6 (chemical messengers) are downstream of signaling pathways which lead to the proliferation of cells. This medicine works by inhibiting cyclin dependent kinase 4 and 6, thus arrests the cancer cell cycle (cell growing process). It also targets the estrogen (hormone) receptor-positive breast cancer cells by disrupting the cell cycle.
